Our mission is to provide yacht manufacturers, commercial marine operators, and the military with extremely flexible electric and hybrid solutions. We offer efficient electric and hybrid marine solutions that drastically reduce fuel consumption, reduced system weight, and increased comfort, using the best of today’s technologies. Our systems reduce carbon emissions, increase safety, and optimize operation and ease of use through automation. Our international involvement with manufacturers has allowed our systems to reach a wide marine audience, for both ocean vessels and boats for inland waters.
ReGen Nautic started out by applying hybrid technology to the sailboat market, mostly catamarans, where the flexibility, light weight and efficiency had the most benefits. It then converted trawlers to serial hybrid systems to allow higher propulsion power, and allow its multi-axis maneuvering software to be exercised. Due to manufacturer’s demand, ReGen also started providing a line of electric outboards, which were an easy downsizing of ReGen’s state-of- the-art technology and software. ReGen’s most recent clients are in military and commercial marine fields, where fuel efficiency, low weight, high-power density and system redundancy are critical for survival and profitability. ReGen’s multi-talented team of engineers can quickly respond to the most challenging integration issues.

ReGen believes that the best place to start increasing vessel efficiency is where the benefits are the greatest, namely optimizing underwater profile and propellers. To this aim, ReGen provides manufacturers very high shaft torque and wide RPM range allowing reduction ratio optimization. The second area to benefit from electric hybridization is in house loads, where variable-speed DC generators coupled to a large battery bank can achieve savings of up to 70% over their lifetime, compared to standard fixed speed AC generators. Other benefits of electric hybrid systems are insolation of shore power issues, constant clean on-board power, hours or days at anchor without constant running generators, and quick charging if and when required.

As some of our predecessors have discovered, efficient hybrid power is impossible without a substantial level of automation, and backups are critical to ensure safety – just as in the aviation industry. There is no pulling to side of the road on the ocean. Our patent-pending software, rugged safety systems and marine certified PLCs (CE, UL, CSA, and GL) are just the start of it. (PLCs are the program logic computers – automation systems standard in the transportation industry). We are raising the bar on automation, safety and backup systems for the marine industry, and adhere to ABYC, CE and the Coast Guard standards to ensure that our electric hybrid solutions meet or exceed existing standards that are relevant to the client vessel.

Variable speed 240 to 600 Vdc, 60 to 150 kW light weight high-efficiency generators.
Our propulsion solutions can be simple or complex, from electric outboards to a mixture of serial and parallel in larger vessels. We can couple propulsion units to directly to shafts with or without gear reduction, through stern-drives, jet-drives, pod drives or combined with high power diesels to provide parallel solutions, in order to control cost when shaft power requirements exceeds one mega-Watt.
We remain the leader in marine hybrid propulsion systems with reliable, proven and certified products!
